I was in Virginia from May 30th through June 8th.  I hadn't been to the farm since Christmas 2005 - a long time and Mom was starting to wonder if I'd ever come back.  While I was there John visited for a weekend, Martha stoppe- by for an afternoon and I spent a lot of time taking Katya out to do stupid things like rock climbing at Mormans, jumping into mountain pools without seeing how deep the water is and canoeing without a life jacket.  That girl has no fear; one day I'll fly her up here and take her on a climbing trip!  I also finally got to meet Alex!

John's kids were enjoyable - JC is a stubborn pain.  I swear I don't know how he's related to his dad. The kid will argue about anything.  If John was anything like JC I don't see how mom and dad had 5 more kids. 

Lucy is doing well; she woke me up one night by yowling.  I let her in and she dropped a mouse at my feet.  Mom's dog Bella is a handful.  It's good thing they live in the country.  For work I brushed out a trail from Mom's house to Gordon's house.  I also cleared out all around the front lake and bush-hogged the old road back to the meadow near the back lake.    [Read More... ]
