In May 2025 our family did an 6 day trek in Picos de Europa – a mountain range in Asturias in northern Spain. We walked a loop around Picos de Europa national park and stayed in a mix of small inns and refugios. Picos de Europa is a small range which is further south and lower in elevation than the Pyrenees which meant we could avoid snow as long as we avoided the high passes which are typically snowy until late June.  [ Read More ]
